Panic Room by Silent Planet is one of their most thought-provoking tracks off of their second album titled, Everything Was Sound. The song deals with the topic of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from the perspective of an American soldier, based on a true story. The track also touches on other forms of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and panic disorder – which gave birth to this project. I wanted to capture the eeriness and the dis-ease of mental illness from the perspective of someone on the outside looking in.

Playing off of the title of the track Panic Room, I wanted to leave the viewer thinking about a series of questions. What do you do when your safe room has been compromised? What do you do when your negative and destructive thoughts infiltrate the very place meant to keep you safe? What happens when it is no longer an outside threat but an internal one? How do you protect yourself from yourself?
