How it Started.
NFT (non-fungible token): a digital artifact that reflects real-world assets such as art, music, videos and digital trading cards. The information recorded in an NFT is unique and essentially lets a creator digitally “autograph” their art. So even if an image or piece of music has been shared hundreds of times, if you buy the NFT, you’re buying something unique and that uniqueness can be verified and traced back to the original creator.
What’s an NFT?
When I started The Fear Theory back 2019, I wanted to create something that was fun, engaging, and authentically imperfect. During the summer of 2021 I held a virtual-workshop for a small class of grade 5 students. My ultimate goals of the workshop was to allow students to grow comfortable with the creative process, to understand the importance of cultivating ideas and to most importantly have fun!
One day during a meeting with Matt, co-founder of Relief Retailers – a clothing brand that gives small artists a platform where they share their unique designs and personal aspirations. He asked me if I knew what NFT’s were, and that was it. I spent the next 2 weeks researching everything NFT’s. We set out on a mission to help artists break into the NFT space and a few meetings later Art Galaxy was born!
The Development.
So Indifferent has teamed up with Relief Retailers to help artists expand into the NFT marketplace through collaboration and philanthropy. A portion of each sale will go towards the artist and a charity of their choice. You can check out the Art Galaxy website to learn more about the project!
