Apparel Projects

FROM SKETCH TO STITCH

My first piece of apparel was born in 2011. Based on the initial Indifferent Face design, the t-shirts I made from sketch to Photoshop to print were sold to colleagues, friends, and through word-of-mouth. A portion of each sale went towards the Red Cross Relief during the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan. I was able to raise about $150.

Seemingly a small endeavour, this first t-shirt design turned into a catalyst for inspiration. It wasn’t about the sales, but the process of creation.

All of my creative endeavours began with this project!

So Indifferent x DIEMENS S2 - 2015/2017

I was a bassist for the group Diemens. It give me the opportunity to collaborate with a  collective of musicians, photographers, and DJ’s. I worked with a local printing company and  seamstress to help bring some of the ideas to life. In the end I created all of the logos and merchandise, some of which you can see below.

The Beginner's Mind - 2018

The central idea behind this mini-launch revolved around “Shoshin” – a Zen Buddhist concept that speaks to the idea approaching everything the same way a  beginner would, with openness and curiosity. I put together a small batch of clothing just to experiment and have fun.

Fear Theory Clothing - 2024/2025

In 2024 I found a local screen-printing workshop, that walked us through the entire process of creating a custom screen. Inspired by what I learned, I  created a series of designs that were later used to create stencils that allowed me to do everything myself.

Just like most things that are handmade, it can be a bit time consuming, but the reward is great.
